Confident Gamers attended the Baltimore Comic Con this year for the first time. While we mostly focus on the video gaming industry, we understand that both the video game industry and the comic book industry are both cut from the same cloth.We checked out the very large vendors and artist area and while mingling and getting our geek on, we came across something called The Hero Initiative. As we read their flyers and informational material, we were driven to have to speak to someone to find out even more about this organization.What is the Hero Initiative?
The Hero Initiative creates a financial safety net for comic creators who may need emergency medical aid, financial support for essentials of life, and an avenue back into paying work. Since inception, the Hero Initiative has been fortunate enough to benefit over 50 creators and their families with over $500,000 worth of much-needed aid, fueled by your contributions! It’s a chance for all of us to give back something to the people who have given us so much enjoyment.
