Just in case you missed the latest Nintendo Direct, CG has the complete roundup right here. 2013 has been deemed the “Year of Luigi” as Mario’s twin brother will once again re-emerge from the shadows of a sidekick and take on more prominent roles this year. Below are the highlights for the year of Luigi as well as for the Nintendo Direct presentation.Year of Luigi
- Luigi’s Mansion Dark Moon – Luigi returns as the timid ghostbuster in his very own game, featuring new mansions, new ghosts, and new puzzles to solve. Available March 24 for Nintendo 3DS.
- Mario and Luigi Dream Team – In this RPG, Luigi’s dreams dictate the environments Mario must traverse. Players can also play tricks on Luigi while he’s sleeping by touching his face with the stylus which in turn helps Mario solve puzzles and defeat enemies while in Luigi’s dream state. Available Summer 2013 for Nintendo 3DS.
- Mario Golf World Tour – Luigi returns to the “greens” as one of Mario’s main rival in the next installment of this entertaining sports game. Available Summer 2013 for Nintendo 3DS
- New Super Luigi U – This will be a massive downloadable content that will be available via the WiiU eshop at some point in 2013, effectively turning the Super Mario Bros. U game into an all new adventure starring Luigi. Details are in the presentation below.
WiiU
- The Legend of Zelda Series community was created on MiiVerse. No longer will you have to post your amazing drawings and top 5 lists in the NintendoLand community.
- Lego City Undercover – New areas of this upcoming game displayed. Available March 18th.
- Ninja Gaiden 3 – New downloadable content coming next month. And it’s FREE!
- Wii Street U (powered by Google) – Now available as a free download from the WiiU eshop.
- ZombiU Bundle – This bundle will be released on February 17th and will include everything that comes with the WiiU Deluxe model plus a copy of ZombiU, a collectible ZombiU artbook, a black WiiU Pro Controller, and a downloadable copy of NintendoLand. Suggested retail price $389.99.
- Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate – Will be released on BOTH the WiiU and Nintendo3DS featuring cross platform play. Available March 19th.
- Injustice Gods Among Us – Play as your favorite DC Comic superheroes in this epic fighting game arriving April 16th.
Nintendo 3DS
- Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D – This classic is being rebuilt for the Nintendo 3DS featuring amazing 3D graphics. Check out the video today on the eshop.
- Fire Emblem Awakening – Get your free map pack before March 6th. More downloadable maps and characters on the way.
- Animal Crossings New Leaf – New and fresh “definitive version” of Animal Crossings available June 9th. New customizations, new species, new features. However some familiar faces appear as well.
- Style Savvy Trendsetters – New Animal Crossing inspired fashion trends now available.
- Castlevania Lord of Shadows: Mirror of Fate – This highly anticipated installment to the series is almost here. This exclusive title will be available March 5th.
- Lego City Undercover: The Chase Begins – Entirely different game from the WiiU version which will be available on April 21st. The story follows Chase McCain’s adventures as a rookie cop.
- E-Shop: Looks like I’ll be spending even more money as fresh new titles are also coming directly to the Nintendo 3DS e-shop including HarmoKnight, Kersploosh, Mario and Donkey Kong Minis on the Move, Dillon’s Rolling Western The Last Ranger (featuring the Squid Assassin), and much more.
